Hedley Flushing Rig cleanses hydraulic brake lines in the Rail Industry

Hedley designed, fabricated and assembled a flushing rig for a customer to enable them to flush, clean and test the hydraulic brake lines of train and tram bogies during refurbishment.

The flushing rig consists of three different hydraulic circuits, a filling circuit, a flushing circuit and an offline filter circuit.

All three circuits were mounted on a 300-litre painted carbon steel tank complete with oil bund and fully wired motor control station.

The flushing circuit contained a highly accurate In-line particle counter with 24/7 real time monitoring, multicolour indicator and USB portable connector kit.

We also carried out a witnessed factory acceptance test with the customer along with an operational training session of the flushing rig for the operators.
