Hydraulic System for Sector Gates

Hedley were asked to contribute to a large regeneration project at the Port of Dover. The Dover Western Docks Revival has a vision to transform Dover’s waterfront for future generations. It includes a new pier and curve to attract shops, bars, cafes and restaurants with Dover’s unique backdrop of the harbour, cliffs and castle.

The project involved design, manufacture and installation of the hydraulic power units, including 30Kilowatt electric motors and 60LPM pumps to operate two sector lock gates and two mitre gates and the pipework and manifolds for the bascule lift bridge located at the new Wellington Dock Navigation Access Channel.
