White Spirit Flushing Rig

This project involved the detailed design and construction of a White Spirit Flushing Rig.  The complete system was supplied by Hedley Hydraulics.

The product replaces a current test rig that was not suitable for use.  We designed an ergonomic rig that would allow safe use of the machine whilst using white spirit which has a low flash point. ATEX classification electrics to facilitate safe use and operation.

The brief from the customer was for the test rig to be;

• A safe system
• Able to reuse White Spirit and clean fluid effectively
• Easy to load and unload the product
• A multi-product specification testing
• Able to optimise machine operation for 10 hours working days
• Compliant with HSE laws
• CE marked product

A challenge we were able to overcome was reclaiming the white sprit from air source during the final flushing procedure.
