At Hedley our bespoke Hydraulic Power Units are designed, manufactured and tested in-house by our precision engineering team.
We offer a wide range of sizes of hydraulic power packs, from small single pump units with AC or DC fractional kilowatt motors, through to large multi pump units with motor powers > 500kW each, flow rates from 0.01 litres per minute through to > 5000 litres per minute and operating pressures > 1000 bar; with in house manufacture of reservoirs in both carbon and stainless steel > 5000 litres in volume.
We design innovative custom-engineered solutions using hydraulic power units of every size and use, for a range of clients, from the hydraulic stage set at the London Royal Opera House, Gloucester Swing Bridge and Ipswich Tidal Flood Barrier Gate. We can provide a full range of hydraulic power units, typically these are bespoke, designed for industrial applications and agreed on to your requirements. We use the latest version of SolidWorks to provide 2D and 3D layout and general arrangement drawings that will allow an understanding of what we plan to provide to you.
With extensive engineering expertise in motion and control systems, we select the most suitable and where possible innovative components for our customers across the UK and worldwide. Typically, but not limited to, high-quality hydraulic component OEMs we use are: Parker Hannifin, Eaton / Danfoss Power Source (formerly Vickers) and Bosch Rexroth, depending on your specification.

We work closely with you to discuss the brief and develop a system design solution that will suit your application. We have our own manufacturing facilities for system build and we take ownership of our designs, applying in house test procedures to ensure the Hydraulic Power Unit is ready for installation and use when it leaves our facilities. We have workshop facilities, where we can test assemble and fabricating hydraulic tanks and skids to industry standards, in a variety of carbon and stainless steels. We keep control of the manufacturing process, providing peace of mind that all elements are being taken care of at our end.
A key part to a trouble free hydraulic system is a well-planned and professional installation. We can install all systems at our customers locations, having control and ownership from ‘system design’ to ‘switch on’ - it’s an important consideration, as you need to be sure you get what you have asked for! Coupled with our installation we can supply all types of pipework whether compression, hosed or welded in the material to suit your application. The latest techniques in cleaning and hydraulic fluid monitoring is employed. An electrical PLC and Software control and installation service is also offered to complete system integration into your operational facilities.
