Estimating Engineer (Hydraulic Engineering)

We are looking for an Estimator/technical engineer to join our team, based at our head office in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The role requires an individual with a strong industrial/ hydraulic system engineering background.  As sole estimator for the company, you will play an integral role within the business.

Role

  • Develop detailed costing estimates and quotations for hydraulic product enquiries
  • Client facing role, working closely with other departments within the company
  • Working with client specifications from design stage through to manufacture, installation and presentation of technical documentation. Liaising with our sales and production team to produce high quality hydraulic systems.
  • Taking a conceptual specification and developing it in to a working hydraulic schematic, specifying and selecting products to create a ‘Bill of Materials’.
  • Providing technical support to the sales team

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: Degree/HND qualification
  • Mandatory; At least 5 years engineering/manufacturing background
  • Mandatory: Ability to read complex technical /engineering drawings using 2D and 3D designs
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Understanding assembly and configuration drawings
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of hydraulics: pumps, valves, actuators and their application use of engineering principle such as Mechanical & Structural constraints, geometric tolerance and material selection
  • Work from and develop hydraulic schematics
  • Knowledge of electrohydraulic/electromechanical systems
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Driving license

Hydraulic Hose Van Engineer (Hydraulic Engineering)

Job Location: Gateshead, NE11 0NJ
Salary: dependent on experience
Company pension scheme
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

We are looking for a Hydraulic Hose Van Engineer to join our team, based from our depot in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. The role requires an individual with a strong hydraulic, systems engineering background. Having mobile plant equipment and Industrial experience, either as a Hose Engineer/Fitter or Plant Fitter, would be advantageous.  The individual should be sales and results driven, able to develop existing accounts and new ones whilst increasing your sales, with a willingness to learn and develop into the role. Full training and support will be provided.

Role

  • Operating from a Hose Van you will have all the necessary equipment to replace hydraulic hoses on site
  • Seeking opportunities to sell additional hydraulic products
  • Providing engineering solutions for customers with a genuine willingness to help
  • Working from our Gateshead Depot you will be responsible for the development of our Hose Van operations working as part of a team in the Tyne & wear area

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: At least 5 years engineering/manufacturing background
  • Mandatory: Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic components and system products
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of hydraulics
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Driving license
